Florence B. Herron Crandall passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 in the comforts of her home and surrounded by her nutty family. Mom started feeling ill in April, but was shocked on July 20th when she found out it was cancer. Her battle was brave, feisty, and short, just like her. Flo was born on September 24, 1933 in Salt Lake City, UT to George and Grace Clark and was one of eight children. Flo married Leroy Herron in 1950 and had five children together, but later divorced. She later married Kenneth Crandall and have been together since.
Although we lost her way too soon, we are so grateful to have her as a mother, wife and grandmother.
Flo had a wild appetite for the four letter word “SALE”, especially when it came to buying items for others in need or fashionable clothing. In fact, we are expecting Dillard’s and Kohl’s to be calling an emergency meeting to discuss how to brace for the impact of the anticipated drop in sales. Flo also loved working and the friends she made along the way. Some of her most memorable positions were at Hotel Utah where she worked for 17 years, Bratten’s where she worked for 8 years, North Seas where she worked for 16 years and most recently at Costco where she helped open in 2005 and worked at for 12 years.
Florence is one of the most kind, loving and selfless people we’ve been blessed with. If you knew Flo, you knew how much she loved taking care of everyone around her. If she heard of someone in need, whether she knew them well or not, she wouldn’t hesitate to do what she could to help them out.
Above all, her greatest love and accomplishment was her family. Flo made it clear that her family brought her great joy and happiness, which came through in everything she did.
Flo loved her friends at Costco and spoke of them often. The family would like to thank them all for the friendships, love and support they gave her. Also, we would like to give a special thanks to Quality Home Health & Hospice for helping us take care of her when things became tough. Lastly, we would like to tell the members of the Bountiful Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses where Flo was a member of.
Survived by husband Kenneth E. Crandall, sons David (Angela), Kelly, Richard (Debbie) and Steven, daughter Kaylene (Gary); 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Carol, Joanie, Billy and Bobby. Preceded in death by parents George and Grace Clark, sisters Louise and Colleen, brother Jack, and grandson Dillon Olsen.
