Floyd J. Hancock returned to live with his long awaited wife and son on Monday May 5th, 2008, surrounded by his loving family. Papa was born on November 4, 1913 to Jeremiah and May Carson Hancock. He married Leone Jensen in 1934 and in 1935 they became the proud parents of Floyd Jay Hancock, their only child who gave him 8 grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. As a young man, Papa worked for Hancock Produce and later retired from Westinghouse with over 35 years of service. He was a member of the LDS Church and had a strong work ethic, which he passed on to this son. Papa loved to fish, hunt, camp, go ballroom dancing, and have coffee with his friends at Dee’s. Throughout his life he had many dogs named Spot, and many birds named Sweet Sweet. Papa is survived by his compassionate daughter-in-law Janis Hancock, brother Grant Hancock, grandchildren Gary Hancock, Tamra Mike Nuzzolo, Stephanie Brent Stephens, Stephen Hancock, Michael Lisa Hancock, Scott Kathleen Hancock, Heidi Wade Atkinson, and Holly Jeff Hawkins, 28 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Leone, son Floyd Jay, brothers Jerry and Ether, and sisters Peggy and Leah. A graveside service will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.on Friday, May 9th, 2008 under the direction of Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary.
