Francis Roger "Frank" Wetzel

November 8, 1951 — February 21, 2017

Francis R. Wetzel was born on November 8, 1951 in Salt Lake City to Francis Timms and June Rasmussen Wetzel and passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2017. He graduated from Highland High School and served in the United States Air Force. Having worked many years in plastics manufacturing, Frank recently retired as Plant Operations Manager in automotive accessories production.
Frank had one sister, Kathleen (Samuel Barnett) and three brothers, William, Thomas (Doreen) and Robert. He married Theresa Gebhardt and had three children, Nicole, Victoria (Chris Niessink), and Teller (Katrina). He was a loving, involved, and proud father. Frank lived life to the fullest. He was intelligent, enthusiastic, well-read, athletic, and most of all, a happy person. He was a natural leader and looked up to by his siblings, friends, and colleagues. Frank brought his long-time dream to life when he built an A-frame family home in the mountains of Summit Park. His passion for Nascar led him to many events where he would spend time in the pits whenever possible. Riding his Harley and barbequing for family and friends were two of his favorite hobbies. He loved the Denver Broncos and the Utah Jazz.
Frank leaves behind his wife, children, three siblings, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William, and nephew Alex. A brief memorial service will be held at Russon Memorial Chapel, 255 South 200 East, S.L.C. on Monday, February 27th at 9 a.m. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 1 p.m. in Three Fountains East Clubhouse, 982 E Eastgate Road (4960 S).  Online guestbook available at www.russonmortuary.com
