Frank E. Boyd, 93, businessman, golfer, and all around great man passed away at Welcome Home Assisted Living on August 6, 2011. Frank was born in Ogden, Utah to Edward A. and Audrey Petersen Boyd. He has two sisters: Helen Hansen of SLC and Jeanne Kearl of Kaysville. He married Claire Bryant on April 7, 1940 and they had a son, Kent, who preceded his father in death. Kent had served an LDS mission in Japan where he met a Japanese girl name Hiroko. Frank and Claire sponsored her in coming to the U.S. and she attended the University of Utah establishing a professional career. She and her children, Ako and Megi, have been family to Frank and visit him often even though they reside in California. Franks wife, Claire, died on June 23, 1996. Late in life he met Ardith Anne Moore. They were married November 17, 2000 and enjoyed eleven years together. Anne recognized Franks needs through his declining years. She and her daughter, Joy and her husband, Brent Urry, met those needs. Franks family expresses appreciation to them. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He had served in many positions including counselor to his Bishop. He found thousands of his relatives by doing genealogical research. Survived by his wife, Anne; sisters, Helen Hansen, Jeanne (Ross) Kearl; daughter-in-law, Brenda Boyd; grandson, Jason (Valerie) Boyd; nephews, Boyd (Ann) Hansen and Scott (Suzi) Hansen; nieces, Renee (Wesley) Wilcox and Annette Kearl. Special family: Hiroko Asano, Megi, Ako (Dean), Brandon and Ellie. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Welcome Home, Life Path Home Health and Hospice, especially Kathy and Tina. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a viewing will be held Saturday morning 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services.
