Frank Poulsen

September 6, 1936 — October 10, 2012

Frank Stanley Poulsen “Stan” passed away at home with his family present on October 10, 2012 after a long illness. Stan was born on September 6, 1936 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Frank J. and Mary lone Poulsen. He graduated from South High School, in Salt Lake City and attended the University of Utah.
He was called on a mission to Copenhagen, Denmark and baptized many people who stayed in touch with him throughout their lives. Stan served in the Utah National Guard for several years. He founded and ran his own successful business for many years, Fire Control Company. Gregarious and kind, Stan had many lifelong friends and held many callings in the LDS church. While he loved serving in any capacity, his favorite callings all involved missionary work and meeting people. A consummate storyteller, Stan had the gift of gab, and when he served at the Salt Lake Visitor Center as a missionary, he was known to call his long suffering wife, Doreen and say, “Lunch for five … Kosher.” Or I’II be bringing home three people from India for dinner this evening.” Always generous, he was truly someone who would give a stranger the shirt off his back. Sadly, in his later years he was not spared the physical challenges of mortality and suffered through many illnesses. It is a comfort to know that he is whole now and reunited with his parents and grandparents, particularly his beloved grandfather, Hyrum Christophersen.
Survived by his wife, Doreen, daughters, Karen Drozd, Rebecca (Richard) Hillquist, son F. Matt Poulsen and granddaughters and grandson. Stan is also survived by his sisters, Mary Fisher, Helen ‘Diane’ Titze and nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday October 13, 2012 at the Farmington North Stake Center, 729 West Shepard Lane Farmington, UT with a visitation from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment- Farmington City Cemetery.
