Franklin Linge Pratt

August 10, 1937 — February 9, 2021

Franklin Linge Pratt, age 83, of Woods Cross, died peacefully at his home in Woods Cross on February 9, 2021.

Frank was born August 10, 1937, in Centerville, Utah, to Arol Hadfield Pratt and Nellie Henrietta Linge.

Frank attended Davis High School and graduated in May 1955.  Frank joined the U.S. Navy, on December 5, 1955, when he was 19 years old.  Frank served his Nation and traveled the world on the USS Wasp (stationed out of Quonset Point, Rhode Island).  Frank crossed the Artic Circle on the UUS Wasp on September 20, 1957.

After his service, he returned home and became employed at the Union Pacific Railroad.  He started as a Dock Worker, then went on to do various positions in the train yard.  Frank eventually retired as a Desk Clerk, after 44 years.

Frank met the love of his life, Jeanette McDonald, in 1963.  They married soon after and raised their children in Bountiful, and then Woods Cross, Utah.  Frank and Jeanette were later sealed in the LDS Salt Lake Temple in 1972.

Frank loved the outdoors, going to the mountains, doing corn busts and planning his annual camping party in Mueller Park Canyon.  He enjoyed raising a garden, playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his family.  Frank enjoyed visiting his son’s farm in Central Utah, where he rode 4 wheelers and helped care for the animals.  Frank was fond of old westerns, the tv series Grizzly Adams and actor Gene Autry.

Frank was an amazing father.  He loved his wife, children and grandchildren dearly.  We will miss this great man and his abundantly filled heart of love.  Frank is our father, grandfather, uncle, friend and Hero.

Funeral will be held Tuesday, February 16, at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing prior from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Funeral Home, in Bountiful, Utah.  Services may be viewed live on Facebook at Russon Mortuary & Crematory.  Internment will be held at the Centerville Cemetery, following the services.

Frank is survived by 2 sisters, Joyce Barton and Sherry Allen.
