Surrounded by his loving family, our father, grandfather and great-grandfather returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father on July 5, 2016. Fred was born December 19, 1926 to Richard Haven Stringham and Natolia Bollwinkel. He married his sweetheart Allie Jeanene Moss on May 11, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Fred was born in Bountiful and raised in Ogden. He attended Weber College where he played basketball and was named "Most Preferred Man." He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in finance, and later graduated from The Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University. Fred served in the National Guard and the Army Reserve. He spent his career in the banking industry, including 30 years with Valley Bank & Trust where he served as President and Chairman of the Board, and later at Olympus Bank where he served as Vice Chairman. He served in many capacities and on many boards during his life, including President of the Utah Bankers Association, Board of Directors of the Federal Reserve of San Francisco-Salt Lake Branch and the Utah Board of Regents.
Fred served in many church callings including Bishop, High Counselor, and Bountiful Temple ordinance worker. He served along side his dear wife Jeanene as President of the Texas Houston East Mission from July 1993 to July 1996. Fred loved horses, golfing, fishing, gardening, music, Bear Lake, chocolate and spending time with his family and friends.
Fred is survived by his children: Jeff (Shawn), Paul, Sheri, Gary (Kristi), Scott (Kathy), Farrell (Darlene), twenty-four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, brother Richard B. Stringham (Annette), sister Ada Haacke (John) and brother Stanford B. Stringham (Sharon).
Preceded in death by our Mother, his parents, older sister Maurine (Ben) Boyer and grandson Austin.
The funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016 at the Oak Hills Ward, 455 South 1200 East in Bountiful. Viewings will be held Friday, July 8, at Russon Brothers Mortuary 295 North Main, Bountiful 6-8pm and Saturday one hour prior to funeral services at the Oak Hills Ward.
