Born March 7, 1926 in Manti, Utah to Mabel Reed and Ivan L. Dyreng. He was a present for his Mother, as they shared the same birthday. He died May 10, 2013, at home, in the arms of his sweetheart Trudy. His early years were surrounded by music, love and family. Gail was a WWII Veteran serving as a Gunner the Army Air Corps. Following the war, he served an LDS mission to Rotterdam, Netherlands where he met the love of his life,Trudy VanHulst. Trudy later emigrated to the United States, they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 28, 1952. He graduated from Utah State University and continued serving his country in the U. S. Coast Guard until 1955. Gail’s life was dedicated to his family, his county and his religion. He had a great love of history, music and poetry. He lead the music at church for 28 years and wrote many poems that touched our hearts. He is survived by his wife , Trudy VanHulst . Children Kevin Dyreng (Julie), Jacqueline Sherman (Kirk), Corinda Isaac (Bryan) , Rodney Dyreng (Teresa) and his kitty, Meeka. Sister Maxine Andrews, brothers Ivan and David Dyreng. Gail and Trudy have 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Mable Dyreng, brothers Leland and Garth Dyreng, sisters Norma Nelson and Doris Simmons. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m., Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Barton Creek LDS Chapel 650 South 750 East, Bountiful, Utah. Burial will follow in the Manti City Cemetary. A viewing will be held in his honor Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N Main Street, Bountiful, Utah, and prior to the services from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church.
