Gale F. Caldwell, 83, loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather passed away June 26, 2016 from incidents of age surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 8, 1932 in Altonah, Utah, in a one room log cabin to Loreen Foote and Lorin Curtis Caldwell.
He spent his early years in Altonah, moving to Sandy where he graduated from Jordan High School. He participated in basketball and track where he held the record in the mile for several years.
He met his eternal sweetheart, Beverly Feller, in the Sandy Third Ward. They were married March 21, 1950. The marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Gale served as a Corporal in the US Army during the Korean War where he was in charge of training troops. He was awarded Soldier of the Month three times.
He started his career in sales in California with General Mills, later transferring to Kaysville, Utah, where he raised his family.
He served as Bishop of the Kaysville LDS 7th Ward, where he influenced the lives of many youth. He served in many other callings during his lifetime.
He and Beverly served a two-year LDS Mission in Nauvoo, Illinois, where he enjoyed singing along the Mississippi River.
Dad had a strong, unwavering testimony of the Savior. He was an example of unconditional love for everyone. He said often that the gospel without the family is nothing and the family without the gospel is nothing.
Gale is survived by his most cherished sweetheart, Beverly; children Gaelyn (Terry) Pearce, Curt (Debbie) Caldwell, Joy (John) Sundloff, Kathleen (Jeff) Cotterell, Bradley (Sue Ann) Caldwell, Clark (Jewal) Caldwell; 24 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren with 5 more on the way; and brother Paul (Nita) Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and 1 grandson.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Kaysville LDS Tabernacle, 198 West Center Street, Kaysville, Utah. Viewing, Friday, July 1, 2016, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main, Farmington, Utah (across from Cherry Hill) and 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Tabernacle preceding the funeral.
Interment in the Kaysville City Cemetery under the direction of Russon Brothers Mortuary.
