Gary A. Townsend was born in Helena, Montana on May 25, 1950, and was raised in Bountiful Utah. Gary attended Bountiful High and the Technical College in Salt Lake City. Gary was an active member of the LDS faith. Some of Gary’s favorite life interests were, Fishing, camping and boating in Utah’s great outdoors. He was a Dutch oven guru and well known for his recipes. Gary was an avid scouter who was actively involved throughout his life, and was a recipient of the most prestigious award within the scouting organization, the Silver Beaver. Gary was well known as a prankster, the teller of jokes and tall tales. He loved Garfield and loved fireworks! Gary worked for Davis School District as a School Bus Driver. His giving spirit left every student that boarded his bus with a lollypop in hand. Gary loved to spend time with family and most of all his Grandchildren.
Gary is survived by 3 children: Marci (Rhett Jefferies) Camille (Shane Summerhays) Sean Townsend (Janece) and his ex-wife Carol Townsend. Gary is also survived by his “Lucky 7” Grand Children, Bridger, Porter, Braiden, McKayle, Ethan, Stella and Garrison, whom all love and will miss their Grandpa dearly.
Gary was preceded in death by brothers Stephen and Randy, and Parents George and Faye Townsend.
Gary and the love he shared will be dearly missed by all.

Funeral: Monday, November 17th – 11:00 am at LDS Church House 102 East 1400 South Bountiful Utah at 11:00am, where Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:30am prior to services.
