Gay Hoskins

August 20, 1932 — August 23, 2014

Gay Houston Hoskins passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2014. She was born to Thomas Ray and Emma Heywood Houston in Panguitch, Utah and was the sixth of nine children.
Gay married E. Ray Pearce in 1954, the father of her four children. They later divorced. In 1980 she married her life companion, Robert Wayne Hoskins. Together they enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and golfing.
Gay excelled in her career in the banking and insurance industries, but her greatest pleasure was her family. Her children and grandchildren loved family functions with her at the helm. Time spent in southern Utah reuniting with her sisters was one of the highlights of her life. She had many friends who, along with her family, will remember her beautiful smile, kindness, compassion, and especially, her laughter. Music was also one of her passions. She was a gifted piano player and could play anything by ear.
Gay is preceded in death by her son, Douglas; one brother and three sisters. She is survived by her husband, Robert Wayne Hoskins; her three children: Ray Pearce, Robyn Gross, and Jacquie (Brady) Wood; three step-children; 18 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank hospice for their loving care and guidance in the last months of her life.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. A visitation will be held from 11:15 a.m. -12:45 p.m. prior to services.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Stroke Association.
