Gayle Janette Peterson Billings

     Gayle Janette Peterson Billings passed away after a long illness on October 14, 2018. She was born in Ogden, Utah on June 21, 1940, the sixth child of a family of seven children of Wallace and Eva Peterson.
     Gayle grew-up on a farm in Kanesville, Utah. She was a hard worker helping with some of the farm chores while pestering her siblings. She became an accomplished pianist and organist and enjoyed being ward organist in every LDS ward she lived in. Gayle worked for Amalgamated Sugar Company as a secretary using her short-hand and typing skills. She taught ball-room dancing and was proficient in all the different dance steps.
      Having lived in Kanesville, Salt Lake City, Harrisburg PA, Provo, Boise, Bismarck ND, and Gaithersburg MD, she was ready to settle-down in Bountiful with her husband where she has resided for the past 43 years. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother and watching and helping her family grow and progress.
     Gayle loved to travel and enjoyed vacations with her husband to Mexico, Spain, Portugal, England, Scotland, Wales and Peru as well as in the U.S. in Hawaii, Alaska and nearby western states.
     With her husband she served an LDS mission to the Washington, D.C. North Mission-Spanish Speaking. She served in many church callings in the Primary, Relief Society and music. Gayle served as a temple worker in the Bountiful Temple for many years and treasured the friends she made there.
    Gayle is survived by her husband John Billings, and four children: Janette (Russell) Todd, Jill (David) Moss, Robert (Jennifer), and Brian (Marley), fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one grandson.
     A viewing will be held Sunday, October 21 at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. held on Monday, October 22 at the Maple Hills Chapel 1320 E. 1975 So. , where a viewing will be held prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
