George Leslie Beach

George Leslie (Les) Beach: Father, Veteran and Denver Broncos fan.

Les loved Yellowstone Park and called it his "Home away from home". It was the highlight of the trip seeing all the animals Bison, moose, elk, wolves and occasionally a black or grizzly bear.

Les died peacefully on November 9th, 2022, at Legacy House Bountiful, Utah at the age of 95. His body was tired, but his mind was sharp.

Born in Ridgway Colorado, Ouray County, May 23, 1927, to parents Preston Aaron Beach and Dorothy Meyers.

Les worked dry farming on Horse Fly Mesa with his father. Some of the crops they grew were timothy hay, oats and alfalfa.

He graduated from Ridgway High and lettered in basketball and football. Les served in the Army-Artillery unit and spent one year in Japan during the occupation. Les loved his experience in Japan.

He married R. Loretta Rumbaugh and had 7 children. When they lived in Naturita, Colorado he worked in a mine for a while and didn't like working in the dark. The family later moved to Uravan, Colorado where he managed a Standard Oil service station. The family then moved to Grand Junction where he also managed a Standard Oil service station. The family moved to Utah in 1976.

He enjoyed the Army reserves and National guard and served over 30 years.
Les was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He loved the mountains, long scenic drives, the Broncos and the Jazz.

Les has 4 living children, 9 Living Grandchildren, 9 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great grandchild Anja who he talked about all the time.

In his honor, there will be a viewing Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main Street Bountiful, Utah, followed by a graveside service at 12:00 noon, Memorial Estates, 6500 S. Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
