With a life well lived, George William Tripp, died on October 16, 2007, in Bountiful, Utah. George was born on March 24, 1920, in Denver, Colorado to George Enoch and Bertha Nelson Tripp. He married Evelyn Helen Wintch, his precious woman, July 7, 1950 in the Manti Temple. Dad was an extraordinary father, each of his family members has always felt loved. His life was rich in experiences and opportunities which made each of our lives rich. George had a great appreciation for the earth and the Lord?s creations. At Utah State University, he graduated in Forestry and Wildlife Management. At the United States Merchant Marine Academy, he received a marine engineering degree which lead him to serving as a naval officer in the Pacific Theater during WWII. His profession was that of a pharmaceutical rep where his personal relationships with the people he met were often very rewarding. George was a historian. With family roots in Tooele, Utah, he wrote a 600 page history of that county. He wrote histories of each of his aunts and uncles, and as much as he could about many of his ancestors. His journals are numerous. Dad served 5 LDS missions: Spanish-American, Stake Mission, Puebla Mexico, Washington D.C. Temple, Translation Dept. Facilitator. He felt great joy in doing Spanish name extraction work for over 20 years. He served as the second Bishop of the Bountiful 28th Ward. He was a co-founder of the Utah State Archealogical Society, and recognized for his contributions by the Utah State Historical Society and Missing him already are his wife, Helen, children, MalaynaRichardStromness, TomLiz Tripp, BillBecky Tripp, JimCharelynneTripp, CindyRussellYardley, 27 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, his sisters, Beverly Boyington, and MaxineBobMcIntyre. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bountiful 28th Ward ? 2285 South 200 West, Bountiful. Family Visitation will be at the ward house Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. and Friday morning 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment – Bountiful City Cemetery.
