Georgette Fernande Tomooka passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the age of 88 surrounded by her children.
Georgette was born on October 19, 1933 in Margaux, France as the 3rd of 5 children to Jean and Elina Marie Lasserre. Georgette lost both her parents at an early age and she and her siblings were raised by their grandmother. Georgette married Scott K. Tomooka, who served in the United States Army and moved to the United States in 1977. Scott passed away in 1980 and was laid to rest in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii. Georgette spent the last 40 years with her companion, Thomas Edward Thatcher living in Stanford, California and later retiring to Corning, California.
One of Georgette’s favorite things was to cook and entertain for her friends and family. She always went overboard, but everyone enjoyed the red-carpet treatment. She had a magnetic personality that was loved and adored by all. She loved tending to her immaculate garden of roses that had every variety and color.
Georgette is survived by her children, Nena Lasserre, Carole Lasserre, Bobbie (Gary) Isabelle, Sissy (Russ) Shank, Richard (Sarah) Lasserre, Tina Lasserre, her companion, Thomas Edward Thatcher, siblings, Henri Lasserre, Jean-Pierre Lasserre, Laurence Arnaud, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Eliane Texier and husband, Scott K. Tomooka.
Georgette will be laid to rest at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Honolulu, Hawaii with her husband Scott. A celebration of life will be held in Hawaii with her family as they send her off dancing in her blue dress and silver shoes.
