Gerald Gilbert

Our husband and father, Jerry Gilbert died November 2, 2011. Jerry was born December 4, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan to Lillian and David M. Gilbert. Jerry was the older of two children. Jerry graduated from Central High in Detroit and attended Wayne University. He worked for his father at Standard Blue Print where he met the companys bookkeeper, Donna. After six years of dating, they married on October 31, 1965. Jerry worked for many years in the blue printing industry, including Giffels & Associates in Detroit. Jerry enjoyed sports of all kinds and could quote statistics of all the Detroit sports teams. Jerry did all he could to ensure that his children lived a more comfortable life than he did. He is survived by his wife Donna, of Bountiful, Utah, daughter, Leah Forster of Salt Lake City, and son, Bruce, of Wayne, Michigan. Jerry is also survived by his grandson Lucas Gilbert. He was pre-deceased by his parents and sister, Marilyn Freedman. There will be a viewing at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful on Monday November 7, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services and burial will be in Michigan. The family wishes to thank the many caregivers who provided loving care to Jerry over the years.
