Gerald Junior Seegmiller

December 20, 1934 — October 18, 2016

Gerald Junior Seegmiller passed away peacefully at his home in Centerville, Utah on October 18, 2016.  He was born December 20, 1934 to Gerald West and Verda Bastian Seegmiller in St. George, Utah, the eighth of nine children.  He married Marlene Baker in the St. George temple.  He served an LDS mission in Texas.  He enjoyed and excelled in many sports during high school and college. He attended Dixie College, University of Utah, and Salt Lake Area Vocational School. He worked for Sperry-UNIVAC as an electronic technician, providing him opportunities to work in many parts of the United States and the world, and at Newspaper Agency Corporation as an area manager. He was active in the LDS Church where he served in numerous callings including Elder's Quorum President, High Councilman, and his favorite, Scoutmaster.  He influenced the lives of many young men, 89 of whom became eagle scouts. His life was one of service and love for others, especially his family, and he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife; Marlene and their children Patrice Shaffer (Adelbert), Mark (Christy), Scott (Linda), Brent (Claudette), Paul (Nancy), and Lisa Brown (Gary); brother Richard Seegmiller (Rhoda) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and sisters-in-law Felice and Shirley Seegmiller of St. George, Utah; 27 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and four brothers.  
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at the Centerville 19th Ward, 880 South 400 East. A viewing will be held Monday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful and Tuesday morning 9:30-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Centerville City Cemetery.
