Geraldine Gines Court

May 20, 1932 — August 29, 2022

Salt Lake City

Geraldine was the daughter of Parley Gines and Hazel Tonander Gines.   She spent her early years in Woodland, Utah surrounded by numerous extended family members.  Later the family moved to Jerome, Idaho because her father thought Woodland was getting too crowded.

She left Idaho to attend her beloved Brigham Young University.  She became a lifelong Cougar fan.  She met her husband Robert S. Court while working at Geneva Steel.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 20, 1956.  They later divorced.  Through this marriage 2 children were born, Shelli and Blake.

The family resided in Provo and later moved to Bountiful where she worked at US Steel and later at State of Utah Third District Court as secretary to the fourteen Judges.  After retiring she spent her days in the Temple and doing Family History Work, which was her passion.

She moved to Salt Lake to fulfil her lifelong dream of serving in the Salt Lake Temple. Service in the Conference Center also brought her many friends and much joy as both usher and tour guide.  She attended the Temple for the last time a few days before she passed.

She loved to travel and was able to see Russia, The Holy Land, and many parts of Europe, her last trip was to visit the newly dedicated Temple in Rome.

She loved her family and enjoyed many grandma adventures with her 7 grandchildren together and individually.  She loved to share her testimony and love of the Savior with her family and friends.
