Geraldine Craven Boyer

November 25, 1927 — February 7, 2018

Geraldine Craven Boyer, 90, of Salt Lake City, Utah (formerly of Bountiful, Utah) died peacefully in her sleep due to incidents of age on February 7, 2018.

Geraldine was born November 25, 1927 in a two room house in Murray, Utah to Gerald and Susanna Ester (Schultz) Craven. She was raised in Logan, Utah and Boise, Idaho. She was the third child to join this family of four children.

Geraldine was her happiest when she was serving others. Many have memories of her hosting, singing, and dancing. In the 1940's she was lead singer for a popular dance orchestra, served as the President of the Boise Valley chapter of the American Dental Assistants Association, and cherished her service alongside her father as an LDS Stake Missionary.

When Geraldine began attending Brigham Young University she became a premier member of the Kia ora Club. They traveled around singing and dancing the traditions of the M?ori people of New Zealand. It was during this time a certain D. Glenn Boyer helped her earn her "MRS. Degree" by crawling through her kitchen window to do her dishes and become the love of her life.  They were married June 20, 1952 in the Idaho Falls Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Geraldine always carried herself with grace and class. Her home was immaculate. She dedicated her life to supporting her husband, life-long learning, and serving others. A passionate community volunteer, she was also frequently called upon to be an inspiration and hostess to various government dignitaries, countless young women, and numerous women throughout the world. She was thrilled to be able to serve several LDS missions with Glenn both locally and globally. She especially enjoyed seeing the beauties of the world and nature. She felt blessed to share her voice and testimony, most notably regarding the power of prayer. She saw no boundaries and openly accepted and loved everyone who came to her home. Geraldine's favorite people to serve and entertain, however, were family. She was her most satisfied when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. They were her greatest source of happiness and they all adored her. Her love, her laughter, and her light will be missed by all of us.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Susie (Schultz) Craven, and brothers Rulon Gerald and Frank Leroy Craven, and infant grandson Michael Ammon Boyer. She is survived by her husband and soulmate of 65 years, D. Glenn Boyer, her children; David (Kathy) Boyer, Michael (Cindy) Boyer, Teresa (Stuart) Clark, her sister Marian (Dave) Dawson, 16 grandchildren, and 14 1/2 great grandchildren who loved her dearly.

Funeral Services will be held at the Lakeview Ward, 455 South 1200 East, Bountiful, Utah at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018. In lieu of a viewing, condolences may be offered to the family prior to the funeral beginning at 9:30 am. Burial will follow at the Centerville City Cemetery in Centerville, Utah.

In lieu of flowers and in keeping with her kind heart and generous spirit, donations may be made to the LDS Humanitarian Fund or the American Red Cross.
