Geraldine (Gerrie) Mills

Our mother and grandmother is now celebrating with her parents, husband and siblings in what is probably the most joyful reunion she has experienced in years.  Mom passed away on Feb 17, 2018 just 6 weeks shy of her 92 birthday.   Mom was born in Richfield, Utah on Mar 30, 1926 to Archibald Bryant Young and Rhoda Marie Andersen.  She attended elementary and high school in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School.  After high school she attended the U of U. It was while attending nursing school that she met the love of her life. She married Ivo Dell Mills on Oct 28, 1946 in the Salt Lake Temple.  Shortly thereafter they moved to Centerville where they built their first house. They were blessed with the birth of 4 children in Centerville: Sherrie (Carl Johnson), Bryant (JoLyn), Russell (Shelley), Holly (Mark Gold). They moved to Brigham City and the youngest son Douglas (Julie) was born.  They always had deep roots in Centerville and eventually they moved back, building a home that became the home for the rest of her life.  She worked for the LDS Church and was always proud of her job especially when she worked in the Young Woman department. She loved to go to reunions with her co-workers and many friends she made while working there. Upon retirement Mom and Dad served a mission for the church in Birmingham, AL. and it was one of the highlights of her life. Mom was always so friendly and made eternal friends where ever she went.  She was so grateful to her ward family for the support they gave her since Dad passed away. She missed her two sisters, Luana Jensen and Yvonne Jacox.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Feb 24 at the Centerville 6th Ward Chapel, 900 South 400 East.  Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful UT or at the church on Saturday from 9:30 -10:30 am.
