The world we now live in is missing a beautiful, wonderful wife, mother, grandma and great grandma. She left us July 26, 2014, about 10:30 in the morning to join her family and friends on the other side of the veil. Geraldine, or Jerri as she was known by here on earth, leaves a legacy of love, generosity and kindness. She married Charles (Chuck) Everett in the Salt Lake Temple, August 28, 1959. As a young couple they worked and supported each other while Charles completed pharmacy school. She raised her four children to be God fearing, industrious, good citizens who know how to work and live the Gospel. After her children were raised, she went back to college and earned a teaching degree and became a school teacher. Her career as a school teacher spanned 15 years, primarily teaching second grade. She loved teaching! She loved her students and happily gave them a secure, friendly learning environment. She loved aerospace and joined the Young Astronaut’s Society where she presented science studies. Her ideas aided in the development of the “Hearts in Space” program that flew on the space shuttle. She received many other awards for her teaching experiences. After retirement, she and her husband spent many winters in the Arizona desert as snowbirds. She loved life and loved to serve her brothers and sisters in the Gospel. All of her church callings, both Stake and Ward, were important and honored as a call from God. She loved her grandchildren, children, family and friends. When shopping, she was always looking for treats and fun things for them. She never missed a birthday. Jerri was born to Milo George Higley and Katherina Barbara Higley on December 19, 1938. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Paul Higley. She is survived by her husband Charles, her four children, Scott (Jill) Everett, Tara (Doug) Nelson, Julie (Todd) Smith, Jackie (Mark) Winter, 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. A viewing will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N Main St, Bountiful, Utah on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the Bountiful 25th Ward chapel, 1500 S 600 E, Bountiful, Utah at 11:00 am, August 4, 2014, with a viewing to be held prior to the services from 9:45 am – 10:45 am at the church.
