Gerda Rosenberg, our loving mother, grandmother, and sister passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on July 25th, 2021.
Born in Salt Lake City in December of 1931, Gerda attended East High School before marrying Currie Harlacker in January of 1950 (divorced, then remarried, and later divorced for good.) They had three children: Steven, Karen, and Carlynn. Gerda was a strong working woman and climbed the corporate ladder working at Mountain Bell Telephone Company as she raised her children.
Gerda found her true calling in life when she became a grandmother. She found joy and love in the time spent with her grandchildren and they cherished having her as such a huge part of their lives.
She touched the lives of so very many people through her work with A.A. Her family is outrageously proud of her for her 33 years of sobriety and for supporting so many others along the way.
Gerda was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Martha Rosenberg, her son, Steven Harlacker, and her sister, Ruth Hooks.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Karen (Jay) Hill, Carlynn (Jonathan) Crampton, her grandchildren Jake Hill, Ashley (Frank) Campo, Jessica (Jesse) Emerson, Chelsea (Dallas) Boyce, Kailee (Blake) Ellsworth, Dakota (Charell) Garcia, her great grandchildren Lucas, Avrey, Beckett, Birdie, and Lennyn as well as her sister, Eleanore Kartchner.
The family would like to thank Legacy House and Inspiration Hospice for taking such great care of our dear mother and grams in her final years and moments.
A brief graveside service/celebration of life will be held Monday, August 2nd, 2021 at 10 am in the Bountiful Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, UT on Aspen.
In lieu of flowers please hug your family.
