Gerloan Tingey

October 28, 1918 — March 3, 2012

Gerloan Judd Tingey, 93, passed away on March 3rd, 2012 at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful, Utah of causes incident to age. She was born on October 28th, 1918 in Upton, Utah, the daughter of George Phillip Judd and Mary Gertrude Randall. She married Melvin Newell Tingey in the Salt Lake Temple on November 8th, 1940. She graduated from the LDS Hospital School of Nursing in 1939, serving as a nurse for 42 years. She and her husband served as Directors of the Mesa Temple Visitors Center. She was an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple for 28 years serving until October of 2011.
She is survived by children Sherrie Tingey Holbrook (Kent), Jolene Tingey Martin (Rawlin), Shauna Tingey Fuhriman , and Mark R Tingey (Polly); 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and sister, Gyla Judd Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband Newell, son Steven N. Tingey (Gayle), and great-grandson Calvin Brandon Blackwell.
Services will be Wednesday March 7th at 11am, LDS Chapel, 135 A Street, SLC. Friends may call Tuesday, 6-8pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, Bountiful and at the church prior to the services, 10-10:45am. Interment at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
