Gertrude Trudy Heywood
Trudy Heywood, 89, of Logan, Ut., died July 6, 2005 in Bountiful, following a brief illness. She was born February 15, 1916 in Littlefield, Mohave AZ, to Joseph Frehner and Hulda Rozena Ence. She was a graduate and class valedictorian of Dixie College. She was working in Salt Lake City as a secretary for the U.S. Government when she met Benjamin B. Heywood. They were married September 28, 1946 in Fredonia, AZ.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Relief Society Presidency and the Sunday School. Trudy was a volunteer worker for the Red Cross and American Legion as Auxiliary President. She belonged to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She also spent countless hours in community service.
She is survived by a niece she raised as her daughter, JoAnn Baron, SLC; a sister- in-law, Mrs. Kenna Frehner, Phoenix, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews who fondly remember Trudy for her constant love, devotion, and hospitality. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, step-mother Myrtle Roebuck, sisters: Lucille Baron, Ora Mae Olsen, Karma Sweet; brother, Arlan Frehner and step-brother, Jay Roebuck.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary 295 No. Main, Bountiful, Ut. Friends may call at 10:00 a.m. prior to the services.
