Our Beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, Glade Webb Hone, age 87 passed away September 1, 2014 at Mountain Ridges Assisted Living in South Ogden Utah.
He was born May 16, 1927 in Park City, Utah, to Lewis and Sarah Jane Webb Hone. Glade grew up in Park City where he received his education in life as well as school. Park City is where he met his sweetheart Grace Eleanor Felton on the family ranch in Snyderville Utah. Their relationship grew while working together on the Felton family ranch. Their fondest memory during their courtship was singing together while milking the cows. At age 17 Glade had a strong desire to serve his country and joined the Navy, where he had the opportunity to serve during the end of World War II.
Glade returned home on leave in April of 1946 and married his sweetheart Grace E Felton in Park City Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Glade enjoyed working on the Felton ranch in Snyderville as the family came along, 5 sons and 2 daughters. He was a great example of hard work and instilled that quality in each of his children. After the Felton ranch was sold in 1959, Glade moved his family to Tremonton Utah where he continued his ranching career as well as working full time for Thiokol Chemical Corporation. As changes came throughout his life he moved to several communities, Hyrum, Castledale, and the last being St. George Utah.
Glade loved the out of doors, he loved camping and hunting in the mountains above the ranch, fishing the high Uinta Mountains, and skiing the slopes of Utah.
Glade loved and was active all his life in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many callings including Bishop of the Castledale Ward. He loved serving the Lord. In 1989 Glade and Grace left for their first mission, they served in Bahia Blanca Argentina for 18 months. Two years later they left for a 12 month mission to Rochester New York, and then later served a temple mission in the Washington DC temple. After their years of service they established their final home in St. George at the Country Meadows South retirement community.
