Glade Rasmussen

Glade Howard Rasmussen died peacefully in Lakeview Hospital on July 28, 2004. He was born May 22, 1915 in Magna, Utah. He was the first son and second child of Hazel Eliza Hayward and Howard Peter Rasmussen.

Glade graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville in 1934 and went on to the University of Utah where he played fullback on the football team for four years under coach Ike Armstrong.

He married Nedra Harker on October 11, 1937. They had two daughters, Carole and Jill. Glade and Nedra were married for nearly 50 years when she died in July of 1987.

On December 31, 1999, Glade married a high school sweetheart, Josephine Whitesides Holbrook.

Glade was very proud of his family and loved them dearly. He is survived by his daughters, Carole Turner Kaysville and Jill Brown Layton, eleven grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, four brothers; Verl, Anna Kay Zona, Ruel Lepita, Tom Georgia, and Glade?s loving wife Josephine. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers also.

Funeral services will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful on Saturday, July 31 at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be at the mortuary on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be at the Farmington City Cemetery.
