Gladys Bailey Pope

Gladys Carrol Bailey was born April 6, 1920 in Pocatello, Idaho to George and Effie Bailey. She was one of eight children. Gladys married her only love, Max D. Pope on September 5, 1940 in Pocatello, Idaho. To their union they were joined by 3 children, Maxine, Marjorie & Darwin. She raised her family while Max worked. Gladys was a beautiful seamstress, making dresses for her daughters. Her greatest love in life was her husband, children and grandchildren. Her greatest grief in life came the day Max passed away in 1988. She missed him dearly and now they are together again. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Maxine Bill Wood, Marjorie Young, and son, Darwin Debra Pope; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Vera Andreasen. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 6 siblings, and a grandson, KC Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, where a visitation will be held from 9:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
