Gladys L. Curtis Together Again
Gladys L. Curtis, age 89, devoted wife and mother, passed away from age-related causes in Bountiful, Utah on March 5, 2004. She joins her husband, Verne, who preceded her in death in July, 1980. She was born March 21, 1914 in Bisbee, Arizona to Walter L. Moore and Frida Lipp. She is survived by her two sons, Gerald G. Carolyn Salt Lake City and Larry E. Marilyn Mapleton, Utah, by five grandchildren, six step grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 17 step great grandchildren, and one great, great grandson. Preceded in death by one grandchild and one great grandchild. She worked many years as a clerk for Montgomery Ward and J.C. Penney. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints, having served in the Primary and Relief Society auxiliaries. She was very sensitive to colors, even admiring the color on the pages of junk mail that arrived. She loved beautiful flowers and confessed that the only thing she ever stole was flowers. She had a great sense of humor and maintained her wittiness until the end The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the personnel at Orchard Cove for their kind care and especially to her exceptional Hospice nurse, Carolyn Taylor, ‘a member of the family,’ as Carolyn put it. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 12:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 South 200 East. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and also prior to services on Thursday, from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the Redwood Memorial Estates, 6400 South Redwood Road.
