Glen Richard Bennett, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Kaysville, Utah, on October 31, 2024. Glen was born August 23, 1934, to Horace and LaRue Bennett. Glen grew up in a loving home in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he excelled in several sports, academics, and working on the farm with his grandparents.
He graduated as a proud West High School Panther and could still sing the Panther fight song – “Vic-tory Vict-ory to the Pan-thers” until the time of his passing. After graduation, he enlisted in the Air National Guard for 1.5 years and later was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England. His mission was a pinnacle point of his life where he learned to love the Gospel, to serve others and made strides preparatory to marriage and family life.
On September 6, 1957, Glen, just six months home from England, married his childhood crush Norma Helen Baldwin. Together they found great success in their careers and provided much for a bright family life. Norma had her own dance studio and Glen worked for Mutual of New York for 25+ years until his retirement at the age of 50.
Glen was a man of great ambition and adventure. During his past time his interests were: golf, tennis, yard work, boating, fishing, and traveling. He especially enjoyed traveling to their home in St. George, Utah.
Amongst some of his greatest successes would be the legacy he left behind. He is survived by his wife Norma, four children, their spouses, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. They include Georgia Rasmussen (Mitch), Brad Bennett, Doug Bennett, and Brian Bennett (Jana). Glen loved his family and would make a point to tell them that he loved and appreciated them as often as possible.
Glen is deeply missed by friends and family, however the family is grateful for the knowledge of God’s plan. Waiting at the door of heaven are his parents, grandparents, family, and friends to welcome him to his heavenly home.
On behalf of the Bennett family, we are grateful for the caretakers and helpers who watched over Glen during his declining years.
