Glen J Olsen, 77 of Clinton, Utah passed away of natural causes while watching a movie from his large DVD collection Saturday evening June 26, 2016
He was born at home on April 22, 1939 in Gunnison, Utah with his identical twin brother Lee R Olsen to Rulon M Olsen and Erma Larue Nielsen. He was preceded in death by both his parents and his older brother Robert and Sister Thelma both who died as children. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Shirley Rae Brandon, His Sons Rulon M Olsen 52, Kelly J Olsen 51, Clifton J Olsen 42, and Step Daughter Michelle Waters 45,
13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren,? and his younger sister Phyllis Kranz and his identical twin brother Lee R. Olsen.
He was a Veteran and Served in the Army, Navy and Air Force as well as the Reserves. He was always a hard worker and was a master tire technician for both Semi Tractor construction (White Motor Company) as well as large earth moving equipment (Jensen Tire) used in construction of Interstate Highway systems in Nevada and New Mexico. He also worked on the flight line at Hill Air Force Base and as a forklift operator at the Ogden Defense Depot before being diagnosed with Lymphatic Cancer which he survived with the help from his Identical Twin Brothers stem cell transplant. He took medical retirements and worked part time for the Flying J Corporation as a merchandiser. Finally he spent his last several years working at the Conoco across from the Ogden temple. He loved serving the workers and watching the new temple and grounds change before his eyes.
He was a High Priest in the Clinton 6th Ward, Clinton North Stake and had served as a Sunday School Presidency member and as a temple worker for many years. Due to health issues he spent his last years working on indexing and submitted over 47,000 names for temple work.
He felt that his greatest achievement was his family. His favorite hymn was I Know That My Redeemer Lives and now he gets to be with Him.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Clinton 6th Ward Chapel, 2223 N. 1000 W., Clinton. Family and friends may call Saturday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the church prior to services.
