Glen Merrill Schultz, Jr.

Glen Merrill Schultz, Jr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 24, 2022, in Centerville, Utah. He was born on November 3, 1936, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Glenn M. Schultz and Vera Treharne Schultz. He graduated from West High School in 1955 and attended the University of Utah.

While at West High School he was captain of the basketball team and was also on the baseball team. He played recreation baseball and held the record for many years for hitting the longest home run in a tournament held in Ely, Nevada.

He was a member of the Utah Air National Guard and retired as a Master Sergeant with 22 years of service. He worked for most of his career as a salesman for Utah Bearing in Salt Lake.

He was a member of the North Point Duck Club for many years. Hunting ducks was one of the most enjoyable activities of his life.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions including being a member of the Stake High Council while living in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Sessions and three daughters, Tracie (Bryan) Rust, Wendy (Luis) Olguin and Cindee (Craig) Holmes. He has 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with number 15 to be born in September. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Barbara Westenskow and brothers Bill and David Schultz.

Viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Mortuary in Bountiful, Utah. Graveside services will be in the Centerville City Cemetery on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.

Services will be streamed live on the Russon Mortuary & Crematory Facebook page and on this obituary page.  The live stream will begin about 10-15 minutes prior to the service and will be posted below.
