Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Glen Richard Simmons, born in Ogden, Utah on April 1, 1940, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015. He grew up in Ogden and Roy, Utah, attended Weber County Schools and graduated from the old Weber High School. He furthered his education at Weber State University. Glen married the love of his life LaNae Wilson, his "Nae", in the Salt Lake Temple on June 6, 1963. They lived in Ogden, Roy, and Bountiful, Utah.
Glen's life was one of service to his family, his faith and country. He served LDS Missions in the Canadian Mission from 1960-1962 and Anaheim California Mission from 2004-2005. He loved his Father in Heaven and served faithfully with diligence in several capacities in the Church, including one of his favorites – Scoutmaster and most recently as Branch President of the Heritage Branch in Bountiful, Utah. He retired from L-3 Communications as a support engineer after 40 years and was pleased to serve in the Air Force Reserve for 26 years.
Glen was selfless in all aspects of life. He deeply loved and cared about others well-being before his own, particularly his family. He enjoyed the mountains, gazing at the stars through his telescope, reading good books, woodworking, pondering, flying in airplanes, mentoring a grandchild and chasing the golf ball around on occasion.
