“Together Again”
Beloved husband, father, grandpa passed away Friday, March 9, 2012 peacefully in his sleep and into the waiting arms of his sweetheart Ruth.
He was born March 25, 1923 in Crescent (Sandy), Utah to Wells Jex and Alta Mae Robertson. He was married to Ruth Bowers Robertson for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on December 21, 1950 by President Spencer W. Kimball. Together they adopted two sons, Gary Ray and Paul Glen Robertson.
He served a Northern States mission and was in the Army stationed at Hill Air Force base during WWII. He retired from the US Postal Service in 1980 after 30 years of dedicated service. After retiring he served as a volunteer at U of U Hospital for 5 years, contributing over 5,000 hours of service.
Survived by sons Gary (Connie), Paul (Julie), grandchildren Mason, Marlayna, Makayla, Makenna, Connor, Nathan and Jojo, brother Melvin (Betty) Robertson, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his eternal companion Ruth in 2007, brother Heber Robertson, sisters Marie Degrieve, Pat Gunderson and Pearl Secrist.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Salt Lake City Cemetary, 4th Ave and N Street. Viewings will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm and on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 from 9:30-10:30 am at Russon Brothers Salt Lake Mortuary, 255 S 200 E.
