Our Brother, Uncle and Great Uncle – Glenn William Kilpatrick, Jr. – died Thursday, August 24, 2023, of natural causes associated with age. He was 80.
Glenn was born February 16, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the son of Glenn William Kilpatrick and Joy Hall Kilpatrick.
Glenn attended Thomas Edison Elementary, South Davis Junior High School and Bountiful High School in Salt Lake City and Bountiful, Utah before moving to Rockville, Maryland in 1960. There he attended Wheaton High School for his Senior year. Glenn attended the University of Utah, the University of Maryland and ultimately graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Journalism in 1968.
Glenn moved back to Maryland after he graduated from college and lived there until 2008. While in Maryland, he worked in journalism, managed a bowling alley and served as the Executive Director of the American Family Society until he found his true passion as a Special Education Para-educator working with students born with Down Syndrome. He loved his students and they loved him. He taught them in the classroom and supervised his students working in the community. After Glenn retired, he returned to Utah in 2008 and resided in Lehi at the time of his death.
Glenn was a selfless man who sacrificed greatly to care for his mother and grandmother for many years. He never complained and would give the shirt off his back to any person he met.
