Gloria Blanche Smith

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Gloria B. Smith passed away Sunday June 12, 2022, at the age of 83. She was born October 6, 1938.

She graduated from Jordan High School in 1956. She was the oldest daughter of Melvin and Viola Thompson. She met her husband C. Dale Smith at a dance in Salt Lake City, Utah. They married on October 22, 1959. After that they added two daughters, Connie and Dianna. She loved her family and her brothers and sisters along with many nieces and nephews. She loved to bowl on her bowling league with C. Dale every year and was very social and loved to attend family functions.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Melvin and Viola Thompson, one brother Lamar and three sisters Kathleen, Rosemary Kelly and Janice Williamson. She is survived by her husband C. Dale Smith, children Connie Gale Smith, Dianna (Alan) Allred, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also survived by brothers and sisters, Noel (Marilyn) Thompson, ReNee (John) Lagant, Susan Thompson, Randy (Cheryl) Thompson, and Keith (Ruth) Thompson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A viewing will be held 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Midvale LDS Ward, 7500 South 308 West, in Midvale Utah, with service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan Utah. A light luncheon will be held at the church following graveside services.
