Gloria Lynne Woolman

September 18, 1948 — January 19, 2019

On January 19th, 2019 Heaven gained another angel, as our sweet mother and grandmother lost her fight with health complications, due to Parkinson’s disease.

Gloria was born on September 18th, 1948 to Maryan, and Arthur Paxton in Salt Lake City Utah. She graduated from South High school and attended LDS Business college and the University of  Utah. On June 7th, 1966, she married Larry Dennis Woolman.  They had 7 wonderful children together. Even though the marriage did not work out, they will forever have a bond and a connection of love for each other that will last an eternity.

Gloria leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She loved everybody, and everybody loved her. She was the best mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend anyone could have ever asked for. Gloria was a second mother and grandmother to many people.  She loved and supported her children and grandchildren in everything they did. Gloria showed the real meaning behind unconditional love. Gloria had many amazing talents. Every year on Christmas she would embroider her children a new pillow and on their birthdays she would crotchet a new blanket and slippers. On Halloween she would dress as a witch and come to her children’s elementary school to tell stories that she had written. Gloria had a talent in many forms of writing including shorthand. Gloria spent many years working in different care centers throughout the Utah valley, as kitchen manager, as well as the head cook. The care centers that were fortunate enough to have had her in their kitchen loved her, loved her cooking, as well as her hard-to-miss smile. Gloria will be incredibly missed.  She is survived by her sister Toni, her brother Kim (Julie), her children Jason (who is doing incredibly well in his Valley Mental health program, which will help him though this devastating time), Raelynne, Sharon (Roger), Jessica, Lesley (James), and Kevin, as well as her fifteen grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, and  many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her oldest son Larry, her grandchild John Heber, her parents, her brother Wayne, her sister Cheryl, her daughter-in-law Corinne, and many other family members who have passed.  A funeral service will be held on Monday January 28, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at the Rose Park 10th Ward, 760 N. 1200 W., Salt Lake City, Utah.  Viewings will be on Sunday, January 27 at 6-8 pm at Russon Mortuary, 255 S. 200 E., Salt Lake City, and an hour before the service at the church.  Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.  Online condolences available at www.russonmortuary.com.
