Grant Fredrickson, born October 24, 1920 in Roosevelt, Utah to Lydia Gertrude Cook and Gustave Fredrick Fredrickson, passed away September 27, 2009 at the age of 88. Grant married June Anna Snyder in the Salt Lake Temple on December 10, 1948, and together they had five children; Kerri Mike Versluis, Brent Fredrickson, Letha Lee, Mark Susan Fredrickson and Dalen AndreaFredrickson. They also have 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Grant served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, after which he pursued a career in Landscape Architecture and Planning. He worked many years for the LDS church and for Utah Parks and Recreation, planning and developing many of Utah’s State Parks. In spite of a busy home and business life, Grant found time for dedicated church services, serving as a bishopric counselor, High Council Member, and Stake Executive Secretary, among other callings. Grant also spent many years of his life serving the Provo and Bountiful Temples as an ordinance worker. Twice, Grant had the opportunity to serve the Lord full time: first as a young man serving in the Spanish-American Mission, second with his wife at his side serving in the Oakland-California Mission. Grant had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ that he bore daily in his love and consideration of others. His family will greatly miss him and his sense of humor. Funeral services will be held for Grant, Friday, October 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Utah Centerville Stake Center, 950 North Main. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main and Friday morning 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
