Gregory Dallas Workman

August 17, 1997 — February 20, 2022

Gregory Dallas Workman, born to Ray and Bev Workman on August 17, 1997, was tragically struck by an impaired driver while riding his motorcycle. He passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2022.

Greg grew up in the Taylorsville area where he caused infamous, good-natured ruckus, and generously shared his life with everyone he encountered. He graduated from Taylorsville High School where he was recognized for his accomplishments in auto shop and also in ROTC where he excelled in marksmanship. He was an Eagle Scout who was passionate about camping, the outdoors, motorcycles, cars, tanks, fighter jets, and computers.

Relationships were important to Greg. He spent time bonding with his father, Ray, on the golf course and in the backyard cooking. He cared deeply for his mother and loved to share things about his motorcycle, camping and wild adventures with her. He played airsoft, explored the wilderness, and nerded out over computers with his brother, Bryan; And he spent time playing video games and visiting with his baby sister, Katie. Most recently he’d found his own community while renting a room in a home full a friends; they lived together, rode together, had bon fires, and even played fetch with the dog. Greg could be found playing with the kids in the playroom or outside working on his bike. He found a home and was surrounded by people who loved him and shared his interests.

Greg was incredibly intelligent, curious, and had a love for sharing his knowledge with others. He was curious and hungry to learn everything he could about his passions and hobbies. In addition, he was eager to share his knowledge with others. Whether he was teaching archery to a Scout group in at Camp Tifie or helping a friend change his oil (and explaining the process), Greg was always willing to share advice, teach something new, and lend a helping hand wherever he could.

Motorcycles were Greg’s biggest passion and you could bet he was the safest rider on the road. He was proud of all his safety gear and loved to talk about his hours of practice. He knew motorcycles backwards and forwards and regularly spouted off model numbers and RPM redlines while shooting the breeze with greasy hands and some cold drinks. He was frequently spotted all over the Ogden area on his bright green Kawasaki, sporting a green Kermit the frog on the back.

Greg had a quirky sense of humor, a strong sense of right and wrong, and a voracious passion for the people in his life. He loved kids and recently had made remarks that he hoped to get married, buy a home, and have a family of his own one day. He is survived by his mother, father, and two siblings. We will miss him dearly and do our best to honor his memory and celebrate his life.
