Gregory Stephen Ellis

Our papa Greg passed away at home on November 6, 2017 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He was born on March 21, 1947 to Stephen Wayne Ellis and Althea Gwen Johnston.  After returning from military service in the Vietnam War, he met and married his sweetheart, Connie Rae Sutton in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 8, 1970. Greg was at his happiest while watching classic movies, eating out, and playing card games with his family.  In his spare time he loved going camping, fishing, family road trips, collecting sports cards, beanie babies and memorabilia.  He worked at nurseries as a salesman and could always remember the Latin names of plants and shrubs. He had a very loving and gentle heart when it came to his wife, kids, and grandchildren and was always more than willing to help them feel better when they were sad.  

He is survived by his wife of 47 years Connie, his 3 children, Samantha (Andrew), Crystal, and Stephen (Kasey), and his adoring grandchildren.

Thank you so much to the V.A Medical Center, Mt. Olympus Rehabilitation Center, Salt Lake Police, Fire, and EMT's for all of their care, help, loving support, hard work, and dedication. As well as Russon Mortuary for their help during this difficult time.

A viewing will be held at the Rose Park North Stake Center, 1155 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City, UT, on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be at Bountiful Memorial Park. Online guestbook available at www.russonmortuary.com
