Biography

Doug passed away on August 4, 2012 in Bountiful surrounded by his wife and children. Doug was born in Salt Lake City on November 18, 1959 to Harold Rollo Bills and Erma Ester Payne Bills. Doug married Shanna Miller on April 17, 1993 in the Salt Lake Temple. They adopted three wonderful children, Brianna, Riley, and Alex. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He served in many callings; his favorite was working with the Scouts. He retired from South Davis Metro Fire after 29 years where he was a firefighter and EMT. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, water skiing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife and children of Bountiful, UT, his brother David (Tammy) of Lake Oswego, OR, mother-in-law Doris Miller of Magna, UT, eleven nieces and nephews and many other extended family members. Preceded in death by his parents, his sister Naone Warren, and his father-in-law Dee W. Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Thursday, August 9, 2012, at the Chapel Park LDS Church, 2285 S. 200 W., Bountiful, UT. Friends and family may visit Wednesday, between 6 and 8 pm at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT or Thursday, 9:30 to 10:45 at the church. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Huntsman Cancer Institute in his memory.
