Haleen McAllister Johnson, Clearfield, Utah, peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018. She was born May 7, 1930 in Kanab, Utah the first of seven children born to John H. and Mary Roxa Lund McAllister. She was raised in Kanab, Utah until the age of 9 years when the family moved to Salt Lake City. Haleen graduated from East High School and attended the University of Utah. She married John V. Johnson on December 1, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their first home in South Salt Lake and after a short time moved to Clearfield where they resided for over sixty years.
One of Haleen’s greatest joy in life came from her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Haleen was a highly valued IRS employee for 43 years sharing her brilliant mathematical mind in the Corporate Tax Industry!
Haleen loved to travel and loved and marveled at the beauty of the world around her. She loved to read and was a regular, loyal patron of the Clearfield Public Library and always had a stack of books to read.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister, Cleo McAllister Barr. She is survived by her siblings John (Karalee) McAllister, LaRee (Heber) Jones, Grace (Kent) Larsen. Cala (Clark) Allen, and Kathleen (Darrell) Blake, her son David (Susan) Johnson, four grandchildren, Michael (Amber) Johnson, Johnny (Heidi) Johnson, Brandon (Melissa) Johnson, Stina (Bobby) Garcia, nine great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces who adored her!
Haleen was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony and love for her Savior. She will always be remembered for her fun personality, great sense of humor, and her example of budgeting and frugality.
To honor her wishes a Family Viewing will be held at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful, UT Saturday May 19, from 1 to 1:30 PM. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30 PM at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd, Ogden, UT.
Haleen’s family expresses appreciation to Dr. Shields, Hospice and Bountiful Orchard Cove Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care, during her brief stay in their facility, following hip surgery.
