Hazel Jane Winter Dolar

February 5, 1917 — April 14, 2016

Hazel Jane Winter Dolar “Grandma in the blue house”

Hazel Jane Dolar, born February 5, 1917, age 99, passed away April 14, 2016. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family. A willing patriot, she worked at Freeport Center, where she packaged ammunition for the Korean war. She passed on her lust for life to her children and grandchildren, who carry on the habits and memories of camping and coffee.  Family dinners every Sunday were another tradition, from which she passed down her secret brown gravy recipe, straight from McCormick.  Her most endearing legacy is the love she shared unconditionally, with family, friends and the occasional stranger, who were friends she hadn’t met.  She will be deeply missed by those family and friends.

She is survived by her sons; William, John (Pam), Dennis, six grandchildren (spouses), 17 great grandchildren, 10 great, great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Dolar, her daughter Baby Jane, and her grandson, Kevin Jay Dolar. Viewings will be held at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 N Main St, from 6-8pm. On Wednesday, April 20, 2016. There will also be a small viewing on Thursday morning from 9:30-10:30 am. Graveside services will be held at the Bountiful City Cemetery at 11:00 am., Thursday, April 21, 2016.
