Heber J. Davis 1/8/1920 – 10/15/07 Salt Lake City – Heber Jedediah Davis 87 passed away quietly Monday October 15, 2007. Heber was born in Deep Run, North Carolina January 8, 1920 to Albert George and Veva Mae Davis. Heber served in the armed forces and went on a LDS mission to Texas. He worked at Hill Air Force Base until retirement as a mechanic. He enjoyed working with wood and was proud of his work shop he used to make planters and toys. Heber served as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple for several years. Heber married Marlene E. Thayer June 20, 1952 in the Salt Lake Temple and had two children. Marlene passed away after 30 years of marriage. Heber later married Grace S Davies Barich. Heber is survived by son Richard L Davis Mary Ann, grandson Trent L Davis, daughter Linda Kim Geis, of Salt Lake City, and brothers William R. & Melvin J. Davis of North Carolina, step son & daughter Dennis R.. Davies and Patricia Stan Lawrence. Preceded in death by wives, Marlene E. Thayer Davis and Grace S. Davis, brothers & sisters Lillie Belle Howard, Willis R. Davis, Mary M. Brown, Piney M.. Kornegay. Graveside services will be held Friday, October 19, 2007 at Redwood Memorial Estates 6500 South Redwood Rd. beginning at 12:00 pm. A visitation will also be held on Friday at 11:00 am in the Memorial Estates Chapel. Services under the direction of Russon Brothers Mortuary, SLC. While at Bennion Care Center he became friends with all who cared for him and enjoyed talking to everyone.
