Heidi Jensen Busk, 54, passed away unexpectedly September 17, 2019, in her home in Bountiful. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Dwight and Ann Glauser Jensen. She was the loving wife of David John Busk for 35 years. They were married June 29, 1984 in the Salt Lake City Temple. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, David; and three children: Paul (Michelle) Busk; Sarah, soon to be married (Michael) Saenz; and Jane (Lincoln) Ballif.
Heidi was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in various callings throughout her life. She had a deep love of the gospel and a devoted faith to Jesus Christ in spite of her many earthly challenges. She believed in and utilized both prayer and priesthood blessings as ways to communicate with her Heavenly Father. Heidi often shared her testimony with her family and others, and used her faith to strengthen others.
Heidi worked as a waitress and relay operator for the hearing impared until she graduated from Weber State University in 2002 with a degree in elementary education. She was a beloved teacher and was often referred to as “my favorite teacher ever” by students. She brought joy and energy to her classroom until health complications forced her to resign.
Heidi was extremely funny and the life of the party. She was a music and concert lover, a world class cook, an avid runner in her prime. She loved movies and television series, especially watching BBC dramas with her husband and Seinfeld with her family. She loved her dog, Annie who was at her bedside through much of her pain.
Although she had reason to be self consumed, she always turned outward, and, when her strength and energy allowed, she served others by providing a listening ear. She was a confidant, although she often let a secret slip.
She loved flowers and gardening. She was thoughtful in her gift giving and went all-out for Christmas. She was generous with her time and means, and gladly sacrificed to meet the needs of others.
Heidi was friendly to all, often striking up conversations with grocery baggers and table waiters. She kept in touch with family via text message and was a prolific emoji user, although sometimes they were more cryptic than intended. She especially loved to text and talk to her six beloved siblings whom she viewed as a source of strength and connection.
Heidi was passionate about holistic healing and was open to ideas and influences from many sources. She was able to see value and beauty in almost anything. As she battled illnesses known and unknown, she taught those around her lessons of faith, hope, resilience and kindness. She also found great solace and healing in her husband and best friend, Dave.
