Helen Allen

d. February 14, 2007

Just as no one left her home empty handed, Helen Hofler Allen left this earth filled with a life of charity and Christ-like love. She was a righteous daughter of God. No one more personified honorable motherhood and homemaking than she did. Her life was devoted to her family and Savior. She and the late Golden L. Allen former State Treasurer and Centerville Mayor taught by example integrity, hard work and dignified endurance. Her five children, Joy Gordon Purrington, Gay Farnworth, Bruce Maud Allen, Ann Fadel and Judy Scott Nixon along with her 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, all are the beneficiaries of her legacy of selfless service and righteous values. Her brother, Grant Norma Hofler and sister, Evelyn Dick Pendleton are surviving siblings of a family of 10 children. An active member of the LDS Church, she filled her callings as she did her life, with honor and dedication. No tribute could adequately memorialize her salwart life or do justice to the impact she?s had on all our lives. Her life?s passing, though painful for us left behind, is a celebration of all that she stood for and a reminder forever of what really matters. Daughter of Emil August and Louise Wursten Hofler, Helen?s pioneer Swiss heritage shone thru her perseverance and strength, both physically and mentally. We miss her already and lovingly anticipate our heavenly reunion. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Centerville 1st Ward Chapel, 120 South 300 East.
