(Helen) Kathryn Sanders

November 2, 1938 — May 31, 2021

Our loving mother returned to Heaven Monday, May 31, 2021, Memorial Day, she didn’t want us to forget about her so she made it a special day for her too. We are sure she was greeted by her mother and dad and her other family and friends who have gone before her. Kathryn was born to Delbert and Helen Young and was the oldest of three children. She moved place to place and was raise on The Ranch in Big Springs, Nevada and learned how to cook from scratch that we all enjoyed. She leaves behind her sister Carol (Darold) Harris and brother David (Rita)Young, her children Wade, Karen (David), Mikel (Jenny), and Blake (Penny), her grandchildren Tyler (Maira), Austin (Brittany), Zachary, Brayden, Keaton, Eliesha, and Hailey, and many fur babies that brought her so much joy.
Kathryn married Roy Sanders and lived in Bountiful, Utah raising their family and then later divorced. Mom started her career working at Continental Bank before the kids and stopped working when Mikel came along. She was a homemaker for many years and after the divorce worked as a clerk at 7-Eleven and also a school cook.
When the kids were grown she spent 17 years in Rose Park, Utah with Wade and Blake. Part of the last year of her life was at Rocky Mountain Care Center, Clearfield, Utah and her final six months with her daughter Karen and her family in Woods Cross, Utah where family and friends were able to see her and spend time with her. The family would like to thank Elevation Hospice for the care and joy they brought her. She met many lifelong friends along the way that made an impact in her life and theirs.
Mom was a mother to many, she brought so much joy and love into others lives. There were many friends who thought of her as their mother too, they loved her cooking also and even helped some with laundry. Her life was met with many challenges and trials and she always had a smile on her face. Kathryn loved to enter sweepstakes and hit the jackpot by winning $10,000. She also met a life goal of going to Hawaii and bringing along her whole family. She has always been giving and never asked of anything for herself, when asked she was always fine. She was the perfect example of selflessness. Her health was poor with breast cancer and later would suffer from heart failure. She bounced back from many things that should have taken her home, her family referred to her as wonder woman because nothing was taking her down. We were grateful to have an extra year and a half with her, she will be sorely missed.
A viewing will be held Monday, June 7th from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
