Our beloved Wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend passed from this life to be with our Heavenly Father, July 11, 2012 surrounded by her family. Helen Kay was born April 23, 1940 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Victor William Pratt Mecham and Elinor Wilsted Mecham. Helen Kay attended schools in Salt Lake City, and graduated from East High. She loved music, and loved to sing. She sang as part of a Quartet in Jr. High and High School, and later she performed as a member of the Sweet Adelines, as well as many Ward Choirs. Helen Kay married Baldur Schoenfeld in 1958, and had 4 children, Randy, Heidi, Kim, Sonja, with this union, they later divorced. She then married Harold Pedersen in 1969 and became the mother to his four children, Kevin, Clifford, Kristin, Karma, as well as one child, Rachel, from their union, and they later divorced. In 1990 she married Arthur Whittaker in the Ogden LDS Temple, where they were sealed for time and eternity, and she became the mother of his three children, Renee, Lauree, Chris. Helen Kay filled the lives of her children with love, laughter, and music.
Helen Kay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served a Genealogy mission with Arthur to London, England. Helen Kay is survived by her husband Arthur, Kaysville, her mother Elinor Mecham, Salt Lake City, sisters; Sherolyn Pedersen; ST. George, Nancy & Lowell Groberg; Sandy, Leslie & Curtis Groberg; Woods Cross, Teri Mecham; Parker CO, Elaine Bond; Salt Lake City, Victoria Mecham; Corvallis OR, Roni Mecham; Centerville, Gayle Maynard; Taylorsville, Children: Kevin & Laurel Pedersen; Bountiful, Randy Schoenfeld; Kaysville, Clifford & Kathy Pedersen; Murray, Heidi & Jay Jones; Kaysville, Kim & Tommy Cormier; Syracuse, Renee & John Kraczek; Farmington, Sonja & Craig Lym; Kaysville, Kristin & Chuck Endres; Mesquite NV, Lauree & Dan Sundahl; Kaysville, Karma & John Conway: Meridian ID, Rachel & Scott Stewart, Alamogordo NM, Chris & Polly Whittaker; Kaysville. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceeded in death by her father Victor Mecham, sisters Susan Mecham and Jeanne Mecham.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville 15th Ward Chapel, 555 N. 100 E., Kaysville, UT. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 N. Main, Farmington, UT and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment- Kaysville City Cemetery
