Helen Lorraine Haywood

Helen Lorraine Haywood, age 87, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2022 at Legacy House in Bountiful, Utah. She has been a resident there since 2015. Lorraine was born April 13, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the daughter of Eric and Helen Hermanson.

Lorraine married her sweetheart, Larry Haywood, on April 1, 1953 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on May 19, 1964. Larry preceded her in death on July 3, 2011.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Pam and Rick Nixon, Blake and Robin Haywood, Kerry and Loraine Haywood, and Lisa and Peter Johnson, as well as 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Troy Nixon & a great grandson, Garrett Haywood.

Lorraine graduated from West High School. She and Larry made their first home in Rose Park, Utah, but moved to Bountiful when their family was young, where they raised their children in the Bountiful 16th Ward.

Lorraine spent her life as a loving, caring and giving person. Her husband and children were always her first priority. She was very selfless and seldom put her own needs ahead of others. In fact, it’s hard to remember her ever doing that.

A viewing and family prayer will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 10-11 a.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, Utah, followed by a graveside service at Centerville City Cemetery.
