Helen Porter

Helen Hackwell Porter 79, passed away on July 7, 2012 at her home in Bountiful of natural causes. She married Nolan Bud Porter on May 5, 1955 in the Manti, UT temple. Her life was one of service. Bud and Helen served together for 13 yrs on temple square as guides while she also served on the committee for the Festival of Trees for 13 yrs. Helen was a volunteer at Lakeview Hospital at the front desk for 19 yrs. She served at the Church History Museum for 10 yrs. She was a member of a Literary Book Club for 35 yrs as well as a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She is survived by her husband Bud Porter and 4 children Steven (Jan) Porter, Leslie (Brian) Carmack, Jeff (Marilyn) Porter, JoLynn (Brandon) Atkinson, 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by all of her 12 siblings and parents and also an infant granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday July 13, 2012 at the Bountiful 31st Ward Chapel, 585 East Center Street. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 9:45am to 10:45am or Thursday, between 6 and 8pm, at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful, UT.
