Henry Campbell Litster of Vernal, Utah, passed away July 14, 2021, in Clinton, Utah
Henry (Hank) was born February 13, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to John Etheridge Litster and Maecell Mary Bottom. He graduated from Davis High School in 1951. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served a mission in London, England 1953-1955 and held many positions in the church throughout his lifetime.
He married Enid Aileen Brown in August 1955, later divorced in Sept. 1973. They were blessed with four children, Terry (Ransom), Robyn (Coleman), Gary, and Nicholas Litster. In October 1977 he married Phyllis Delores Leath adding additional blessings to his family by adopting her three children Danny, Lori (Whitlock), and Keri (Cox).
Hank was a jack of all trades. In order to provide for his family, he drove a cement truck for Ready Mix, a taxi cab in Salt Lake City, a long-haul semi-truck for Consolidated Freightways along with various other jobs over the years. Finally retiring in November of 1984 from Federal Civilian Service after an honorable career of 20 years.
Hank was very patriotic and loved this country. He served 2 years of active duty in the US Army from 1955-1957, and 4 years in the Army Reserves from 1967-1961.
Hank took great pride in his yard and was often seen on his riding lawn mower cutting the grass and sitting on his porch waving to everyone whether he knew them or not.
Hank was preceded in death by; his parents, his wife Phyllis, his brothers John Jr. (Jack) and Bruce, his sisters Mary (Partridge) and Alice (Barney), and 2 grandsons Christopher Flynn and Joseph Litster. He is survived by his 7 children, 19 grandchildren, and 40 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life/graveside service will be held on August 13, 2021 at 12:00 pm at the Maeser Fairview Cemetery, 300S. 3500 W, Vernal, Utah, 84078.
